We may think thoughts like, "When I lose the weight, I'll be happy" or "When I have more money, I'll be happy" The honest truth is weight, bank account balance and whether or not your kid made the cheer team are all circumstances. Every great coach know that power of a timeout strategically played. Sometimes the players need a little rest. Other times, they need to regroup to get their head in the right space to really execute their winning move with precision. Whatever the purpose, timeouts can make all the difference in a win or a loss. They are to be strategically played NOT held onto until the clock runs out.

As parents, it's so easy to get caught up correcting our children and "helping" them improve that we spend most of our time completely missing that which is most important--BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS. Correction is received so much better when FIRST we have spent time quality time together communicating and building a foundation of trust, love and mutual respect.
